After a successful debut of the HY-Series, we proudly present the HY-WING V2. With plenty of updates the new model will continue to support the all round capabilities of the Wing and allow it to reach a new level of performance. With increased stability, effortless handling and an extended wind range it will be the ideal choice for any Wing Surfing ability.

The new HY-FOIL WING 1600 is designed to deliver outstanding allround capabilities in Wing surfing. With 2 different backwing options, the HY-FOIL WING 1600 will adapt to the needs of the Wingfoil beginner, as well as the experienced wing surfer.

WHICH BACKWING TO CHOOSE? If you are a beginner, pump foiler or a rather heavier wing surfer (above 80kg) choose the bigger backwing with 282cm² surface. If you are intermediate level or above, light-weight (below 80kg) and are looking to push the HY-FOIL Wing to its top speed, go for the smaller version with 220cm².

The shape is aligned with our hardboard concept and does provide the extra amount of stability and float. Our design approach was to create an inflatable with the lowest drag on the market. Thanks to the narrow rounded square tail in combination with our PVC speed edge, the board will accelerate quickly and take off with ease. Our unique ALU STREAM PLATE is designed to limit the drag of the foil plate to a minimum and will vastly increase the stiffness of the board.

This solid platform will transfer all energy to the foil and its mechanical properties will align perfectly with all Double US-Box Aluminum Foil connectors. In combination with the double rail layer construction and a high density 15cm dropstitch material the board demonstrates a hardboard like stiffness, while offering an unmatched durability against dings and damages. The slightly softer surface of the board will also offer a higher safety level that will especially address wingfoiling beginners.

The Gunsails HY-FLATE concept evolved to a performing all-round wingboard that fits in a handy trolly backpack and that will be ready to fly within a few minutes. With its vastly reduced drag and fine tuned design it will stand out with the earliest inflatable take off, followed by a direct and controlled flight. Say HY.

Several magazine reviews and tests have confirmed the performance and accessibility of the HY-Wing wing and experienced its balanced and playful characteristics. With the V2 we take it to the next level.
The new stiffer and slightly bigger cushioned handles do contribute to the effortless handling and ensure the directness of the wing.
By exchanging the leading edge material to a stronger double diced dacron material the Wing has increased its responsiveness and wind range. The therefore augmented stability of the strut framework holds the profile precisely in shape and supports the control and reactivity throughout the whole wind range.
With an adapted window geometry the visibility during flight has further improved increasing the overall safety. With small reinforcements in the right places the HY-WING V2 has also increased its durability while staying one of the lightest wings on the market.
From your first flight attempts to explosive jumps, the HY-WING V2 will be your reliable and performing companion and will elevate your wing surfing.

DOUBLE DICED DACRON

140g Dacron Material with double thread reinforcements being 90 degree aligned to each other. This material allows the leading edge to be super light and durable at the same time. With the right amount of stiffness, the Double Diced Dacron is the first element to the HY-Wings performance.

HIGH DENSITY RIPSTOP MATERIAL

The canopy material is built from high density ripstop. Through the use of a dense 2 – Yarn structure the rip stop material is super resistant and provides the perfect amount of stretch. The fabric is coated to withstand the wear and tear as well as UV-light.

FUSION TRAILING EDGE

The fusion trailing edge completes the construction of the wing. The lower ends of the ripstop fabric are covered and protected by a super resistant dacron material. This construction is ensuring lightness, durability and provides the right stability to the profile of the wing. Furthermore it avoids flattering of the leech.

NEUTRAL HANDLE WITH PROTECTION PAD

A loop on the leading edge that allows you to tow the wing depowered with just one hand, perfect for wave riding where you don't need any pull in the wing. Under the loop is a soft pad that protects the knuckles.

WIDE VISON WINDOW

Good visibility to leeward on all courses ensures more safety

MULTIPLE CUSHIONED HANDLES

Solid padded handles at the centers strut allow direct handling as well as maximum freedom in positioning the hands. The wing can thus be easily controlled with one hand.

AIR TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

Connects the leading edge to the center strut, making inflation and deflation quicker as you only need to inflate through one valve. On the water, this connection can be interrupted by a clamp. Should one strut be damaged and lose air, the second still remains filled and gives buoyancy.

BAYONET VALVE

The bayonet valve is super safe and absolutely tight. Just twist on the hose and inflate.

SEAM PROTECTION

When the wing is on land, the seams of the leading edge are protected against abrasion.

Within the development of this beauty we always had one goal in mind - improve your winging and just have fun while doing so.

With our Carbon/Aluminium Hybrid Construction, the foil combines aerospace grade Aluminium components with high modulus carbon wings. The result is durability and lightness within an innovative design, all available within a reasonable price level.

The characteristic moustache form is driven by a bionic design approach. The central part of the frontwing is inspired by the wings of the albatross as the overall profile and sides of the wing resemble the fins of a dolphin. Nature has been selecting the best creations for a while so the aircraft engineers who have been developing this foil with us have been looking above and below sea level for inspiration. Combined with countless hours of simulation and years of experience we managed to find the sweet spot between stability, speed and control while minimizing the drag of the foil.

The resulting foil stands out through immense stability on straight flights, while keeping turning characteristics extremely easy and under control. The wing surface that is following the special moustache line will create lift through every moment of a turn or jibe while the rather pronounced profile will help to take off with the lightest of breezes.

The thicker profile of the frontwing and the rounded edges of the overall wing design, will increase the safety of use of the HY-FOIL Wing 1600.
